A Brief Biography
Jeanette Sacco-Belli has lived in the San Francisco Bay Area for fifty-two years. She is a classically trained true coloratura soprano – a voice known for a delicate flute-like quality which has great flexibility. She received her Masters Degree from Notre Dame de Namur University in voice performance, and her Bachelor degrees in both voice performance and music education from San Francisco State University. She is also the daughter of the late Dr. P. Peter Sacco, musician, composer, and singer.
Since the age of sixteen, Jeanette has performed professionally numerous times in the Bay Area, singing opera, oratorical, chamber music, liturgical music, solo recitals, private performances, as well as appearing as a guest soloist with various local orchestras and choirs. For the last seventeen years, she has been a choral conductor for local churches and other choral groups.
Some of the operatic performances in which she has appeared in leading roles include: The Prima Donna by Arthur Benjamin, Help, Help, The Globolinks and The Telephone by Gian Carlo Menotti, La Fille du Regiment and Elixir of Love by Donizetti, Gianni Schichi and La Boheme by Puccini, The Impressario, Bastien and Bastianne, The Marriage of Figaro, The Magic Flute and Cosi Fan Tutte, by Mozart. Some of her oratorio solo performances include: Mass in E Flat, Mass in A Flat, and Mass in G by Schubert, Mass in D Minor, Mass in C, The Creation, and Nelson-Messe By Haydn, Kantate No. 51, The Passion According to St. John by Bach, The Messiah by Handel and the Faure Requiem.
Jeanette still occasionally performs, but now dedicates most of her time and energy to teaching, and her other passion of fine art painting. The Sacco-Belli Music Studio has been in business for 30 years and specializes in vocal technique and voice therapy. Jeanette has taught on the music faculty at Canada College for 15 years, 11 years at Notre Dame de Namur University, and 18 years at the Crestmont Conservatory of Music. Presently, in addition to her home studio she has been teaching voice at Skyline College for the past 5 years and continues her association with the Crestmont Conservatory.
Jeanette recently self-published her first book, The Great Spirit Says.
